Whether you are bound for university, college, apprenticeship or the workplace, the Cooperative Education program will give students the opportunity to learn and develop the essential skills and work habits required for success in all types of workplaces. Students will acquire practical experience and develop valuable knowledge and skills in a workplace setting that suits their strengths, interests and goals. This program will help students prepare for their future after graduation and assist them in making informed career decisions.
- The co-op course is consists of the following sections:
- pre-placement (in-class)
- integration (in-class)
- work placement (on site)
- Students may earn:
- 2 Credit Co-Op Package (220 Hours) – this is half day – morning or afternoon
- 4 Credit Co-Op Package (440 Hours) – this is full day
All students can benefit from participating in cooperative education. In their experiences, students will develop:
- A reflective habit of mind to derive meaning from their experiences;
- The ability to apply their learning to influence decisions and actions in various aspects of their lives;
- The skills, knowledge, and habits of mind required to become competent and confident education and career/life planners.
